Road Void Grouting and Slab Stabilisation
Concrete road slabs have a tendency to sink or rock during the course of their serviceable lives, due to instability of the underlying sub-base material, usually brought about by water flow or pumping action beneath the slabs. The costly alternative of demolition and reconstruction can be avoided by introducing grout beneath the slabs, using vacuum to create an upward air flow, thus ensuring effective void filling with minimal wastage.
Misaligned slabs can be lifted back to correct levels, using a proprietary jack and beam arrangement, prior to grouting. This process has been modified to stabilise floor slabs, as typically found in factories and warehouses. The use of rapid setting injection materials enables slabs to be returned to service within three hours of treatment, thus minimising disruption to normal operations.
